Job summary

Hafnia in Singapore seeks an experienced Chief Engineer/Senior Second Engineer to lead daily vessel technical operations, uphold Vision, Purpose and Values, and drive safety, energy efficiency and environmental performance onboard and ashore.

You will oversee dry-dock planning, ensure compliance with statutory and class requirements, manage spares and maintenance records, and collaborate with crewing and shore teams to optimise running costs.

Qualifications

Minimum 7 years of sailing experience.
At least 2 years’ experience at sea as a Chief Engineer or Senior Second Engineer.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Able to travel and visit vessels when required.
Able to work independently and in a team setting.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate commitment to Vision, Purpose and Values; reinforce Zero Harm initiatives onboard ships and ashore.
Monitor ships to ensure safety, quality, energy efficiency, and environmental performance.
Ensure compliance with statutory, class, and future regulations and third-party requirements.
Conduct bi-annual vessel inspections and follow up on deficiencies.
Manage dry-docking planning, onsite management, and final reporting.
