Job summary

Silith in Singapore seeks a Firmware Engineer to develop and maintain firmware for CPO optical engines and modules, owning device control, monitoring, and fault protection across hardware and software boundaries.

You will work with MCUs, DSPs, interfaces like I2C, SPI, UART, and MDIO, implement closed-loop control, manage memory, and collaborate with test equipment and production teams to ensure robust, scalable firmware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in electronics or related field.
• 3+ years of embedded firmware experience with MCUs and optical hardware.
• Proficient in C/C++ with hands-on MCU firmware development.
• Strong ARM Cortex-M/A knowledge, bare‑metal or RTOS development.
• Solid understanding of I2C, SPI, UART, MDIO, GPIO interfaces.
• Experience with version control and software build practices.
• Proficiency in Keil, IAR, GCC, and CMake; Python scripting is a plus.
• Experience with CPO optical modules and related components preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, debug, and maintain firmware for CPO optical engines and modules.
• Develop firmware for MCUs, DSPs, monitoring ICs, and drivers for lasers and sensors.
• Create firmware for hardware interfaces: I2C, SPI, UART, MDIO, GPIO.
• Implement initialization, status monitoring, fault detection, and protection routines.
• Develop closed-loop control for temperature, bias, and optical power management.
• Manage non-volatile memory for configuration, calibration data, and serials.
• Interface firmware with host software, test equipment, and automated systems.
• Contribute to bring-up, debugging, failure analysis, and production introduction.
• Design firmware architecture, protocols, documentation, and version control practices.
