Job summary

SOON YAN ENGINEERING PTE LTD is seeking a Lead Fire Protection Engineer to lead and manage fire protection teams across projects, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. You will develop strategies, mentor staff, and collaborate with contractors to design compliant fire protection plans and maintain system performance.

The role requires a Diploma in a related field, 3+ years in fire protection or facilities management, and strong knowledge of codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the fire protection team to achieve project and safety objectives.
• Provide technical guidance, support, and mentorship to team members to enhance performance.
• Develop and implement fire protection strategies, standards, and policies aligned with industry regulations.
• Collaborate with departments and contractors to design fire protection plans that meet project requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections and testing to ensure fire protection systems are operational and compliant.
• Ensure all fire protection systems comply with relevant codes and standards through ongoing monitoring.
• Develop and deliver fire safety training programs for facility staff and workers to promote safety awareness.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, fire departments, and stakeholders to maintain compliance with fire safety regulations.
• Oversee installation, repair, and maintenance activities of fire protection systems to ensure quality and safety.
• Develop and monitor budgets related to fire protection projects and report progress to the Manager of Facilities Management.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date project documentation for fire protection systems.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients to address fire protection requirements and concerns.
• Participate in meetings as required to support project and operational objectives
