Job summary

Active Fire in Singapore seeks a Construction Manager to oversee construction projects from planning through completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality standards while coordinating with clients, architects, engineers and contractors.

The role requires a degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, CCM or equivalent certification, and at least 5 years of project management experience, with strong knowledge of building codes and fire protection regulations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional certification as a Construction Manager (CCM) or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing construction projects.
• Knowledge of building codes, fire protection accessories codes, regulations, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement detailed project plans with clear goals, objectives, and timelines to guide construction activities
• Establish and control project budgets to minimize expenses and ensure financial efficiency
• Oversee on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and quality standards
• Select, evaluate, and monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure performance meets project requirements
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to align project progress and resolve issues
• Identify potential risks including safety hazards, delays, and cost overruns, and implement mitigation strategies
• Ensure construction work meets quality standards by identifying defects and overseeing their rectification
• Develop and manage project schedules to meet milestones and deadlines consistently
• Enforce safety management protocols to maintain safe construction sites and compliance with regulations
• Prepare and submit comprehensive project reports covering progress, costs, and quality metrics
