Job summary

Michael Page Singapore is sourcing a Senior Financial Controller for a high-growth APAC fintech. You will lead the entire finance function across multiple entities, drive month-end close, reporting and governance, and partner with senior leadership on growth and profitability.

The role requires a qualified accountant with 6+ years in finance, Big 4 audit and payments experience, hands-on leadership, and the ability to navigate regulated jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant (CA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
• 6+ years of finance experience, ideally with Big 4 Audit and commercial experience within payments.
• Experience owning full financial close processes and statutory audits.
• Experience managing multi-entity accounting across jurisdictions.
• Strong understanding of financial controls, reporting and compliance requirements.
• Prior team leadership or people management experience.
• Experience in fintech/payments or regulated industries is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of financial control, including month-end close, group reporting and statutory accounting across multiple entities.
• Manage merchant settlement, payment reconciliations and financial controls in high-volume environments.
• Oversee safeguarding processes, regulatory reporting and compliance obligations across jurisdictions.
• Act as primary contact for external auditors and tax advisors; ensure timely statutory requirements.
• Partner with senior leadership to provide insights on profitability, pricing, unit economics and business performance.
• Drive process improvements, automation, and finance transformation projects to support scalability.
• Lead, mentor and develop a finance operations team with high accuracy and governance.

Job Description

• Manage merchant settlement, payment reconciliations and financial controls, ensuring accuracy across high-volume transaction environments.
• Oversee safeguarding processes, regulatory reporting and compliance obligations across regulated jurisdictions.
• Act as the primary contact for external auditors, tax advisors and corporate service providers, ensuring timely completion of all statutory requirements.
• Partner closely with senior leadership to provide insights on profitability, pricing, unit economics and business performance.
• Drive process improvements, automation initiatives and finance transformation projects to support business scalability.
• Lead, mentor and develop a small finance operations team while maintaining exceptionally high standards of accuracy and governance.

The Successful Applicant

• Qualified Accountant (CA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
• 6+ years of finance experience, ideally with Big 4 Audit and commercial experience within payments.
• Proven ownership of full financial close processes and statutory audits.
• Experience managing multi-entity accounting and working across multiple jurisdictions.
• Strong understanding of financial controls, reconciliations, reporting and compliance requirements.
• Prior team leadership or people management experience.
• Experience within fintech, payments, financial services or other regulated industries is highly advantageous.
• Understanding of safeguarding, merchant settlement, payment operations or regulated financial environments would be beneficial.
• Ability to operate in a hands-on, fast-paced and high-growth business environment.
