Job summary

Morgan McKinley Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking a Finance Operations Accountant on a contract basis to manage daily accounting, month-end close and regulatory reporting. The role collaborates with Treasury and Operations to reconcile cash and securities activity and resolve settlement breaks.

The ideal candidate will have a Diploma/degree in Accounting or Finance with 3–5 years of experience in finance operations or financial reporting within securities or related markets, and strong Excel

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification is an advantage.
• Around 3–5 years of relevant experience in finance operations, financial reporting or audit within securities, brokerage, banking or capital markets.
• Hands-on experience with journals, reconciliations and month-end close.
• Familiarity with securities or treasury products and their settlement flows.
• Proficient in Excel and able to investigate reconciliation breaks independently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post daily journals, accruals and adjustments. Maintain general ledger records and supporting schedules.
• Perform bank, broker and balance-sheet reconciliations. Investigate breaks and follow through on outstanding items.
• Support daily cash movements and settlement reconciliations across products such as equities, bonds, FX and derivatives.
• Perform client-money segregation checks and assist with risk-based capital computations and supporting schedules.
• Support month-end and year-end close, MAS regulatory returns, GST and corporate income tax filings.
• Liaise with auditors, tax agents and internal stakeholders, and maintain clear documentation of finance processes and controls.
