Job summary

p.l. global impex pte. ltd. in Singapore seeks an experienced Finance Manager – Accounting & Trade Finance to own the finance function, covering accounting, reporting, banking and trade finance.

You will coordinate with management, external bookkeepers and auditors, ensure GST, corporate tax compliance, and drive process improvements while maintaining integrity and timely financial information.

Qualifications

• Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• ACCA, CA Singapore or equivalent professional qualification preferred
• Approximately 5–10 years of relevant finance and accounting experience
• Strong hands-on knowledge of full-set accounting, reconciliations and financial reporting
• Good working knowledge of Singapore accounting standards, GST, payroll/HR, corporate taxation and statutory requirements
• Practical experience dealing with banks, banking facilities and trade finance
• Familiarity with LCs and other trade-finance instruments
• Experience with cash-flow and working-capital management
• Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate discrepancies and ensure outstanding matters are resolved
• Experience reviewing or managing work performed by external accountants or bookkeepers would be an advantage
• Strong Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets skills and familiarity with Xero or similar accounting systems
• Experience in international trading, import/export, commodities, shipping or a related business would be an advantage
• Strong written and spoken English
• Able to work independently and communicate confidently with management, banks, auditors, tax agents and other professional parties
• High level of integrity, discretion, attention to detail and financial-control awareness
• Hands-on, organised and comfortable operating in a dynamic business environment

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the company & full set of accounts and financial reporting
• Manage and review work performed by the external bookkeeping team
• Review monthly closing, accounting entries, reconciliations and balance sheet
• Prepare and review management accounts and financial reports
• Monitor receivables, payables and other balance sheet items
• Prepare and maintain cash-flow forecasts and monitor upcoming financial obligations
• Investigate accounting discrepancies and ensure outstanding matters are properly addressed
• Provide management with timely and clear visibility of the company & financial position
• Oversee Singapore GST, corporate tax and other relevant statutory requirements
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents and corporate service providers
• Establish and maintain appropriate financial controls and review procedures
• Improve management reporting and financial visibility
