Job summary

Singapore Swimming Club is seeking a Finance Manager to support the Director of Finance in overseeing the club’s financial operations, reporting, budgeting, cash flow and compliance. You will lead the finance team, drive process improvements and provide solid financial insights to guide management decisions.

The role covers payroll, fixed assets, revenue accounting and interaction with departments to improve financial performance while ensuring robust internal controls and regulatory adherence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day Finance function and ensure accurate timely accounting records.
• Lead the month-end closing and prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Review financial statements, reconciliations and accounting records for accuracy and compliance.
• Analyse financial performance against budget, forecast and previous periods, highlighting key variances and risks.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support business decisions.
• Assist with annual financial statements and year-end reporting.
• Coordinate the annual budgeting process, including operating and capital expenditure budgets.
• Work with Heads of Departments to prepare and review departmental budgets.
• Prepare financial forecasts and monitor performance against approved budgets.
• Identify areas for cost control, efficiency and improvement.
• Monitor cash flow, liquidity and working capital to ensure the Club meets its financial obligations.
• Oversee bank reconciliations, receivables and payables.
• Maintain strong internal controls, approval processes and financial procedures.
• Identify financial risks and recommend appropriate controls and improvements.
• Coordinate the annual external audit and provide the necessary schedules and supporting documents.
• Ensure timely GST, corporate tax and other statutory reporting requirements.
• Liaise with auditors, tax advisers and other professional advisers when required.
• Keep up to date with changes in accounting standards, tax regulations and statutory requirements.
• Review payroll reports and ensure proper reconciliation with the accounting records.
• Work closely with HR on payroll-related matters.
• Oversee the fixed asset register, depreciation, disposals and impairment.
• Monitor capital expenditure against approved budgets.
• Monitor the financial performance of the Club’s revenue-generating activities.
• Ensure proper accounting and reconciliation of membership fees, programmes, facilities, F&B, events and other revenue streams.
• Oversee the financial aspects of Jackpot operations, including reconciliation and reporting.
• Work with all departments to improve revenue, manage costs and minimise financial risks.
• Ensure proper controls over cash collections, refunds, discounts and other revenue transactions.
• Provide management with timely financial reports, analysis and business insights.
• Highlight key financial risks, opportunities and trends.
• Support Heads of Departments with financial advice and information for decision-making.
• Assist the Director of Finance with reports and presentations for Management Committees where required.
• Lead, supervise and develop the Finance team.
• Allocate work and ensure timely completion of accounting and reporting activities.
• Review the team’s work to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Coach and mentor team members and support their professional development.
• Promote a collaborative, accountable and high-performance team culture.
• Identify opportunities to improve Finance processes, controls and efficiency.
• Support automation and digitalisation initiatives.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and systems.
• Work with relevant departments and system providers to resolve system issues and improve reporting.
• Support the Director of Finance on financial projects, reviews and initiatives.
• Support other operational duties as assigned by the HOD or Management.
