Job description

  • Oversee finance-related matters for all group or related companies across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Review the financial operations of group entities and supervise the work of accountants.
  • Liaise with external parties for any finance-related matters.
  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, including MAS reporting and tax filings in Singapore, Japan, Canada, Hong Kong, and other applicable jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and follow up on audit findings to ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger for all entities under the group.
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely reconciliation and reporting accuracy.
  • Prepare and review monthly accounts and supporting schedules, ensuring they are properly maintained and documented.
  • Maintain and update various financial schedules to support overall financial health and reporting.
  • Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes across all group entities.
  • Monitor cash flow and working capital requirements.
  • Optimize fund flows and manage treasury functions, including FX risk and merchant settlement requirements.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decisions, including new market entry and business model expansion.
  • Support financial requirements for regulatory license applications and renewals.
  • Oversee transaction reconciliation processes across payment gateways, e-wallet systems, and bank accounts.
  • Ensure proper revenue recognition of transaction fees, FX margins, interchange income, and other income streams.
  • Work closely with Tech and Product teams to improve financial data integration, reconciliation efficiency, and automation of financial operations.

Requirements:

  • Solid understanding of transaction-based accounting, payment flows, and digital reconciliation processes.
  • Chartered Accountant qualification (e.g., CA, CPA, ACCA) is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of MAS Payment Services Act and customer fund segregation requirements.
  • Experience working with cross-border payments, PSPs, or stored value facilities.
