Lam Seng Hang Company Private Limited in Singapore seeks an experienced Finance Lead to manage the full set of accounts for the group and subsidiaries, overseeing day-to-day accounting, statutory compliance, financial planning, treasury, and business partnering.

Reporting to Group Finance Director, you will own month-end close, consolidate, tax matters, audits, and the development of internal controls, while supporting divisions and overseas units in Singapore and China.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy with ACCA or CPA and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, including substantial hands-on experience managing full sets of accounts.
  • Experience within Distribution or Logistics industry is preferred.
  • Experience managing subsidiaries in Singapore & China and dealing with chemicals & rubber products is preferred.
  • Experience working in SMEs and able to work in a small team is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of full-set bookkeeping, month-end/year-end closing, and statutory compliance (SFRS, GST, corporate tax) is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the full set of accounts for the company and subsidiaries (GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Inventory, bank reconciliations).
  • Own month-end and year-end closing, prepare financial statements and notes, and oversee consolidation for the Group.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax agents and company secretary; manage GST, corporate tax, and statutory filings.
  • Oversee treasury and cash flow management, forex gains/losses, and cash positioning.
  • Establish internal controls and financial policies; provide business partnering to Division/Department Heads.
  • Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring compliance with regulatory reporting (ACRA, IRAS) and Workplace Safety policies.

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Group Finance Director, the incumbent will be responsible for managing the full set of accounts (“full book”) for the company and its subsidiaries, while also supporting the broader Group Finance function. The role is weighted approximately 70% Accounting (full book) and 30% Finance, covering day-to-day accounting operations, statutory compliance, financial planning, treasury, and business partnering.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Accounting – Full Set of Accounts (~70%)
  • Manage and maintain the full set of accounts (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Inventory, and Bank Reconciliations) for the company and its subsidiaries.
  • Ensure all accounting activities comply with Group accounting policies and Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS).
  • Own the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring accurate and timely closing of the books.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, including notes and supporting schedules.
  • Execute and lead the Group Quarterly & Annual Accounting closing and consolidation process.
  • Oversee full-spectrum Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, including invoicing, payment processing, credit control, and vendor/customer reconciliations.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register, depreciation schedules and capital expenditure tracking.
  • Perform and review bank reconciliations, petty cash and cash book records.
  • Ensure proper documentation, filing and audit trail for all accounting transactions and supporting records.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors, tax agents and the company secretary; prepare audited financial statements and statutory filings.
  • Responsible for all tax matters, including GST filing, corporate tax computation, tax planning & structuring, and submission of tax returns and related obligations.
  • Oversee the accounting/bookkeeping functions of subsidiaries, both locally and overseas (Singapore & China).
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory reporting requirements (e.g. ACRA, IRAS) and other relevant authorities.
B. Finance (~30%)
  • Support financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes for the Group.
  • Provide monthly management reporting and variance analysis, extracting data from designed and structured templates with Visual Basic macros and SQL embedded.
  • Analyse current/past trends and key performance indicators, including revenues, cost of sales, fixed costs and capital expenditure.
  • Responsible for treasury and cash flow management matters, including forex gain & loss and cash positioning.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls and financial policies & procedures.
  • Provide business support, advisory and partnership to Division/Department Heads for finance-related matters.
  • Assist in financial risk management and support ad hoc finance projects as required.
C. Team & Compliance
  • Manage and develop the finance team, including workload allocation and review of work performed.
  • Compliance with the Workplace Safety, Health and Security policy.
  • Report any incident, accident, near miss, occupational disease, dangerous occurrence or suspicious risk associated with the threat of terrorism.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy with ACCA or CPA, and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, including substantial hands‑on experience managing full sets of accounts.
  • Prior experience within the Distribution or Logistics industry is preferred.
  • Experience managing subsidiaries in Singapore & China and dealing with chemicals & rubber products will be preferred.
  • Experience working in SMEs previously and willing to work in a small team will be preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of full-set bookkeeping, month-end/year-end closing, and statutory compliance (SFRS, GST, corporate tax) is essential.
  • Knowledge of basic programming and SQL is an added advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, including Access and VBA (Macros).
  • Familiar with Microsoft Business Central (NAVISION) & Dynamics 365.
