Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and annual Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets and Cash Flow Statements.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports for management.
• Maintain accurate full sets of accounts for the company's operating entities.
• Prepare and coordinate IRAS submissions, statements and supporting schedules.
• Work closely with external auditors during audits.
• Prepare audit schedules and responses to auditors' queries.
• Liaise with external accountants, tax advisers and other service providers.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
• Reconcile revenue from hotel PMS, restaurant POS, OTAs, payment gateways and bank receipts.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and financial projections.
• Monitor actual performance against budgets and perform variance analysis.
• Maintain proper financial controls and documentation.
• Develop and improve finance SOPs and internal controls as the company expands.

Job Description

BMG Hospitality is looking for a hands-on Finance Manager to support our growing hospitality operations in Singapore.

This is a management-level position responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing management and statutory accounts, supporting Singapore tax and regulatory requirements, and working closely with our external auditors, accountants and tax advisers.

We are building a cloud-first and AI-assisted hospitality business, and the successful candidate should be comfortable working with cloud applications, accounting systems, spreadsheets, ChatGPT and AI agents as part of their daily work. You do not need to be an AI specialist, but you must be open to using technology to improve productivity, reporting and financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and annual Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets and Cash Flow Statements.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports for management.
• Maintain accurate full sets of accounts for the company's operating entities.
• Prepare and coordinate relevant IRAS submissions, statements and supporting schedules, including corporate income tax and GST matters where applicable.
• Work closely with external auditors during interim and annual audits.
• Prepare audit schedules, supporting documents and responses to auditors' queries.
• Liaise with external accountants, tax advisers and other professional service providers.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
• Reconcile revenue from hotel PMS, restaurant POS, OTAs, payment gateways and bank receipts.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and financial projections.
• Monitor actual financial performance against approved budgets.
• Prepare variance analysis and highlight unusual expenditure or financial trends.
• Maintain proper financial controls, approval processes and supporting documentation.
• Review supplier invoices, purchase orders and payment documentation.
• Work closely with the Purchaser and operational managers on cost control.
• Support management with hotel-level and restaurant-level profitability analysis.
• Maintain proper records for intercompany and related-party transactions.
• Assist with year-end closing and statutory financial reporting.
• Maintain proper accounting records and documentation in accordance with company policies and Singapore requirements.
• Develop and improve finance SOPs and internal controls as the company expands.
• Support the opening of new hotels, restaurants and operating entities from a finance perspective.
• Be able to lead and develop a finance team as the business grows.

AI & Cloud Working Environment

BMG Hospitality is developing an AI-enabled and cloud-first operating environment.

The Finance Manager will be expected to use tools such as ChatGPT, AI agents, cloud-based spreadsheets, accounting software, OCR and digital reporting systems to assist with activities including:

• Financial analysis and variance reporting
• Invoice and document processing
• Duplicate invoice detection
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Management reporting
• Reconciliation support
• Preparation of finance SOPs and documentation
• Data analysis and financial dashboards

AI will assist the Finance Manager in carrying out the role more efficiently. However, the Finance Manager remains responsible for reviewing, verifying and approving the accuracy of all financial information before it is submitted to management, auditors or government authorities.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in accounting, finance or financial management.
• Able to prepare full sets of accounts.
• Hands-on experience preparing Profit & Loss Statements and Balance Sheets.
• Familiar with Singapore accounting, IRAS, corporate tax and GST requirements.
• Experience working with external auditors and preparing audit schedules.
• Strong Excel or spreadsheet skills.
• Experience with Xero or similar cloud accounting systems will be an advantage.
• Hospitality, hotel, restaurant or multi-entity accounting experience will be an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and good financial-control discipline.
