Temasek Foundation seeks an Associate Director (Finance) to drive financial strategy and portfolio management for philanthropic capital deployment. You will bridge traditional finance with catalytic financing structures, advising senior leadership and building organizational capability in blended finance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in finance, financial planning and analysis, investment, corporate finance, impact investing, development finance or a related field.
• Experience in blended finance, catalytic capital, investment analysis, due diligence or financial structuring.
• Strong financial and analytical capabilities, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and analysis.
• Strong business-partnering and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to analyse unfamiliar or complex issues, exercise sound judgement and develop practical solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated, intellectually curious and comfortable working across both established financial processes and emerging areas of work.
• Prior experience in philanthropy, impact investing practices, development finance, sustainable finance or broader social-impact sector (advantageous).

Responsabilités

• Engage in programme design to assess affordability, financial sustainability, funding structures and delivery risks, and advise on the use of philanthropic capital in catalytic financing structures, including recoverable grants and guarantees
• Identify and develop catalytic capital opportunities with programme teams, including opportunities for collaboration and co-financing
• Support opportunities in sourcing, assessment, financial analysis, due diligence and structuring, applying appropriate financial, risk and governance frameworks
• Prepare recommendations, approval papers and proposed funding conditions for senior management
• Coordinate and maintain Temasek Foundation’s catalytic capital portfolio, including tracking the pipeline, commitments, deployment, financial performance, risks, impact monitoring and other relevant portfolio information
• Build networks and develop insights from Temasek Foundation’s catalytic capital portfolio to strengthen organisational knowledge and capability
• Support the development, and lead the management and monitoring, of programme budgets across gifted endowments, including allocation, utilisation and forward projections
• Manage cash-flow projections, including run rates, to ensure deployment remains aligned with plans
• Serve as the finance business partner to Impact Teams, including providing advice on budget utilisation, adherence to financial policies, variations, regulatory compliance and other programme-related financial matters
• Provide portfolio-level analysis and insights to support decisions on the allocation and deployment of philanthropic capital
• Strengthen financial planning, monitoring and reporting processes, including system enhancements, to improve visibility over Temasek Foundation’s philanthropic capital deployment
