Job summary

Temasek Trust Ltd. is seeking a Controller, Finance and Governance for TTFA to oversee donor-advised funds, accounts payable/receivable, cash management, and year-end close.

The role reports to the Head of Finance and Governance and requires a degree in Accountancy with at least 5 years of experience, including audit exposure. You will ensure regulatory compliance with IRAS/ACRA/MAS, manage budgets, and improve financial processes leveraging technology and AI-enabled workflows in a philanthropy

Qualifications

• Degree in Accountancy or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of working experience.
• Open to candidates with audit experience only.
• Meticulous and able to multi-task.
• Good communication - both written and verbal and inter-personal skills.
• Analytical mind with an eye for detail and desire to probe further into data.
• Negotiation skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships.
• Strong business and financial acumen and ability to understand business drivers and their financial implications.
• Able to adhere to tight deadlines / time constraints.
• Ability to manage highly confidential information.
• Tech-savvy – ability to handle spreadsheets and systems processes, use of AI to enhance workflows.

Responsibilities

• Donor Advised Funds management
• Setting up donor fund
• Issuance of donation receipts
• Tracking of receipts for IRAS reporting
• Processing of program disbursements
• Tracking of donor funds and preparation of Donor statements
• Accounting treatment for various fiscal sponsorships
• Maintenance of approved investments for donors
• Accounts Payable: processing all invoice payments and staff claims
• coding of invoices and claims to facilitate budget tracking.
• Tracking of expenses based on approved budget.
• Accounts Receivable: Billing for advisory and foundation management fees
• Cash management: Tracking of liquidity and funding requirements
• Year end and Month end closing: Preparation of month-end schedule
• Preparation of audit schedules and audit confirmation
• Consolidation of accounts
• Preparation of annual financial statements
• Group reporting to Parent company
• Expense Management: Annual Budget process
• Tracking of spend against budget and funding limits
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements – Commissioner of Charities, IRAS, ACRA, MAS
• Regulatory reporting – CoC, Approved Grant-Maker
• Tax reporting – Corporate Tax, Withholding Tax
• Board and board committees meeting agendas and logistics
• Prepare financial reports, board papers, and presentation materials for Board and board committees
• Projects: Annual Budget process
• Automation and enhancement of systems and processes
