Job summary

GMP Technologies is assisting a well-established shipping multinational to hire a Finance Assistant (Shipping). This role covers day-to-day accounting functions and supports senior finance staff in a fast-paced environment.

You'll gain exposure to accounts payable, general ledger maintenance, cash flow management, and banking relationships while ensuring accuracy and compliance. Entry-level candidates are welcome, and proficiency in MS Excel is essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance.
• Open to entry-level candidates.
• Experience in AP/AR/GL desirable.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and tax.

Our client is a well established shipping MNC. Currently, they are seeking a suitably qualified candidate to join them as "Finance Assistant (Shipping)".

In this role, you will be responsible for the following :

• Accounts Payable
• General Ledger Maintenance
• Cash Flow Management
• Banking relationship management
• Agency Statement of Account
• Staff expense claims
• Internal controls and audit support
• Financial systems & software

Requirements:

• Diploma/ Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Ideally 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in the shipping industry but not a must
• Also open to entry level candidates in accounting or Finance
• Hands on experience in accounting or finance roles, with a focus on AP, AR and GL management
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and tax regulations
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team
• Proficiency in MS Excel and other financial reporting tools
