Job summary

ShortcutX PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a Senior Finance & Accounts leader who can oversee the full finance function across Singapore and Malaysia, drive budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management, and scale the finance operation for growth.

You will present monthly performance and weekly leadership updates, provide data-driven recommendations to department heads, and establish robust controls, policies, and reporting processes to support strategic decision-making and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, CA, or CIMA are highly preferred.
• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant finance and accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership position.
• Proven experience managing the full spectrum of finance and accounting functions across Singapore and Malaysia.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards, statutory compliance, SST, EPF, SOCSO, EIS, payroll administration, corporate tax, and financial reporting requirements.
• Hands-on experience in e-commerce and inventory-based businesses, with solid understanding of inventory valuation, COGS, stock reconciliation, marketplace transactions, payment gateway reconciliations, and sales reconciliation.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, XERO/accounting systems, and financial reporting tools.
• Excellent communication and presentationskills, with confidence in engaging senior management and cross functional stakeholders.

• Monitor working capital and liquidity to ensure financial health.
• Present weekly financial performance and insights at leadership meetings.
• Partner with department heads to analyse performance and support commercial decisions.
• Ensure compliance with statutory reporting, taxation, audit requirements across Singapore and Malaysia.
• Manage relationships with auditors, tax consultants, banks, and authorities.
• Establish and improve financial controls, policies, SOPs, and reporting processes.
• Support Directors in strategic planning and expansion initiatives.

Job description

We're looking for someone who doesn't just produce reports, they interpret the numbers, challenge assumptions, and provide insights that help the business make better decisions. You'll be expected to confidently present financial performance during weekly management meetings, support department heads with data-driven recommendations, and build a finance function that scales with the company's growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Finance & Accounts department across Singapore and Malaysia.
• Oversee the full spectrum of finance and accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable(AR), General Ledger (GL), cash flow management, and month-end/year-end closing.
• Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts, financial statements, and consolidated reports for multiple business entities.

• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax consultants, banks, and government authorities.
• Establish and continuously improve financial controls, accounting policies, SOPs, and reporting processes.
• Support the Directors in strategic planning, business expansion, investment evaluations, and corporate initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, CA, or CIMA are highly preferred.
• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant finance and accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership position.
