Job summary

OPUS IT SERVICES PTE LTD is seeking an on-site Field Service Technician to provide technical, maintenance, and training support for installed training systems and equipment.

You will ensure equipment is serviceable, safely deployed, and ready for scheduled activities, reporting defects and maintaining equipment readiness. Fresh graduates are welcome, with opportunities to travel between sites and work outside regular hours when required.

Qualifications

• Must have a technical diploma or similar qualification in electronics, electrical engineering, mechatronics, IT or related field.

• Experience in field support, equipment maintenance, system operations or training support is preferred.
• Basic troubleshooting capability for electronic, networked or electromechanical equipment.
• Ability to read maintenance checklists, follow technical instructions and prepare clear service reports.
• Good communication, teamwork and customer-service skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform operator-level preventive and basic corrective maintenance on cameras, controllers, and training systems.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and report defects needing higher-level support.
• Carry out battery charging, condition checks and readiness activities.
• Obtain written statements from users when discrepancies are identified.
• Move equipment to/from the warehouse and sites as required.
• Support stocktaking and accountability of equipment.
• Cross-train and provide operational support at other sites when needed.
• Comply with site safety, security and operating procedures at all times.

Job Purpose

Provide on-site technical, maintenance, and training support for installed training systems and equipment. The role ensures that equipment is serviceable, safely deployed, and ready for scheduled training activities.

Reporting Line

Reports to the Site Lead and works closely with the Operations Manager, site support personnel and training units.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform operator-level preventive and basic corrective maintenance on fixed and pan-tilt-zoom cameras, Universal Controllers, UC Lite units, UC cameras, targetry systems, the Battlefield Effect System, and Building Instrumentation System.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance in accordance with approved checklists and report defects requiring higher-level technical support.
• Carry out battery charging, condition checks and equipment-readiness activities.
• Obtain written statements from users when equipment discrepancies, damage or loss are identified.
• Move equipment to/from the warehouse from/to site/s when required.
• Support annual stocktaking and maintain accurate accountability of assigned equipment.
• Cross-train and provide operational support at other sites when required.
• Comply with site safety, security and operating procedures at all times.

Candidate Requirements

• Higher NITEC or Diploma in electronics, electrical engineering, mechatronics, information technology or a related technical discipline.

• Relevant experience in field support, equipment maintenance, system operations or training support is preferred.
• Basic troubleshooting capability for electronic, networked or electromechanical equipment.
• Able to read maintenance checklists, follow technical instructions and prepare clear service or operational reports.

• Responsible, safety-conscious and able to work independently in an operational environment.
• Able to handle equipment, work outdoors and travel between work sites when required.
• Able to support training outside normal office hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends or public holidays, when operationally required.
