Job summary

Goldman Sachs is seeking an Associate/VP to own a FICC platform end to end, driving architecture, delivery and production health for pricing, risk, and automation. You will lead a multi-year cloud migration and shape technical direction across a globally distributed team.

The role requires deep Java expertise (17/21+), strong distributed-systems fundamentals, and experience with AWS, containers, CI/CD, and security at the edge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years for Associate or 8+ years for Vice President in professional software engineering.
• End-to-end ownership of substantial systems.
• Deep expertise in modern Java (17/21+) and JVM.
• Experience with distributed systems and cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

• Own a platform area end to end—architecture, delivery and production health for pricing, risk, quoting and automation across FICC derivatives and cash products.
• Set technical direction for multi-year cloud migration and deployment topology.
• Decompose legacy components into resilient microservices, ensuring production reliability.
• Define reliability standards (SLOs, latency budgets, observability) and implement canarying and incident response.
• Build automation for safe change velocity (CI/CD, testing strategy, quality gates).
• Communicate platform direction to engineering and business stakeholders across jurisdictions.
• Explore AI-assisted engineering and tooling in platform design and shipping.
