Job summary

Lumilens is seeking a Failure Analysis Engineer to lead investigations of optical transceiver failures from field or production testing. You will work with R&D, supplier quality, and production to identify root causes and drive corrective actions, while developing new test infrastructure and automation scripts for customer switches.

The role requires strong problem solving, data analysis, and hands-on testing in cutting-edge photonic tech. Collaboration with customers is common.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in physics, electrical/mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with transceiver modules (400G/800G/1.6T) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuits and failure analysis.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and troubleshoot optical transceivers from field or lab tests.
• Troubleshoot failures using schematics, test gear, switches, DOE/DFMEA.
• Collaborate with R&D, supplier quality, and production for root causes.
• Document test results with data, photos and repairs.
• Extract shipment and test data from production databases.
• Assess field risk using failure modes and reliability tools.
• Present reliability progress updates to R&D, teams and customers.
• Engage with customers and respond to technical inquiries.
• Develop new test infrastructure to validate failure signatures.
• Develop scripts to operate and report data from customer switches.
• Datacenter architecture experience is a plus.
