Job summary

Lumilens Inc. is seeking an Optical Manufacturing Test Engineer to validate and ensure the quality of photonic components, modules, and systems.

You will blend hands-on production testing with hardware test development, supporting both NPI and high-volume manufacturing. You will collaborate with optical design, hardware, and manufacturing teams to implement design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-test (DFT) guidelines, perform calibration and testing of fiber optic components, and generate

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Industrial Engineering or Physics with 12+ years in high-volume optical transceiver manufacturing or automated test system development.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Expert in optical test equipment and protocols for manufacturing and test of optical transceivers.
Hands-on experience with optical test instruments (OSA, power meters, polarization controllers, BER testers).
In-depth knowledge of yield analysis, problem solving, and implementing manufacturing processes.
Familiarity with processor communication interfaces and test automation tools.
Data query and data analysis skills are a plus.
Experience with SPC, GR&R, tester correlation, and report generation.
Ability to write/adapt scripts for automation (Python, LabVIEW, Visual Basic; Shell scripting a plus).
Experience with reliability testing and quality control practices.
Understanding of QA systems and standards.
Expertise in optics FA and related tooling.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end test development and qualification for production changes under QMS.
Document tester specifications and analyze results against specifications.
Develop, validate, and release production testers.
Manage test yield, quality and reliability targets.
Plan and implement continuous improvement to reduce cycle time and scrap.
Collaborate with quality for qualification testing and with design for manufacturing.
Design and conduct optical and fiber testing on components and modules.
Maintain thorough test records and generate comprehensive reports.
Assist with root-cause analysis and cross-functional issue resolution.
Train operators and review test change orders with contract manufacturers.
