Job summary

VANGUARD HEALTHCARE PTE. LTD. is seeking a Kitchen Steward to perform daily housekeeping within the nursing home kitchen at Senja (Bukit Panjang) / Bukit Batok Care Home. You will assist with food hygiene, cleanliness, plating, and interactions with outsourced vendors to ensure safe food handling and delivery to residents.

The role requires basic English, a service orientation, and the ability to work on rotating shifts. Prior hospitality or F&B experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Basic English language proficiency to communicate with colleagues.
• Service oriented and customer focused.
• Experience in hospitality or F&B preferred.
• Able to work on rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining food hygiene (delivery, storage, temperature, prep).
• Upkeep environmental cleanliness (washing dishes and cutlery).
• Ensure proper handling of chemicals.
• Report maintenance deficiencies in the kitchen.
• Ensure kitchen supplies meet daily needs.
• Keep work areas free of hazards and store tools properly.
• Work with vendors to receive food.
• Audit kitchen facilities with Centre Manager.
• Conduct plating activities if required.

Job description

Working Location: Senja (Bukit Panjang) / Bukit Batok Care Home

This role will be responsible to perform daily housekeeping functions and maintain high standard of hygiene and cleanliness within the kitchen of the Nursing Home.

You will support the Assistant Executive, Operations and Operations Executto work with outsourced vendors to ensure the safe and proper management, kitchen cleanliness, handling, plating and delivery of food to residents

The detailed duties are as follows:

• Assist in the maintenance of food hygiene (taking delivery of food, storage of food, food temperature maintenance, food preparation)
• Upkeep environmental cleanliness (washing of dishes and cutlery), includes daily cleaning and weekly deep cleaning
• Ensure proper handling of chemicals
• Report any maintenance deficiencies detected within the kitchen to the Operations Support Assistant and/or Ops Support Exec.
• Ensure kitchen supplies are adequate to meet the daily needs of the nursing home
• Keep work areas free of hazardous conditions. Ensure that kitchen tools / equipment are cleansed and properly stored after usage.
• Work with vendors to receive food
• Work with the Centre Manager to audit the kitchen facilities
• Conduct plating activities if required

Requirements:

• Basic English Language Proficiency to communicate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.

• Related experience in hospitality or food & beverage industry will be preferred.
