PRIMESTAFF MANAGEMENT SERVICES PTE LTD is seeking a hands-on Facilities Technician (IFM) to support operations and maintenance for nursing homes and eldercare facilities. Our client is seeking a hands-on and resourceful Facilities Technician (IFM) to support the operations and maintenance of our nursing homes and eldercare facilities.
You will report to the Facilities Manager at the respective nursing home and be responsible for the day-to-day troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of building systems. You will follow established facilities protocols and play an important role in ensuring a safe, reliable and comfortable environment for our residents and caregivers.
Building & M&E Maintenance
Perform hands-on troubleshooting and minor repairs for electrical and M&E systems.
Troubleshoot lighting, switches, sockets and basic electrical issues.
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of building systems.
Troubleshoot pumps, compressors and related equipment.
Attend to urgent breakdowns and after-hours maintenance matters when required.
ACMV & Mechanical Systems
Perform first-line troubleshooting of air-conditioning and ACMV systems.
Support maintenance of chillers, AHUs, chilled water pumps and ventilation systems.
Identify faults and determine when specialist vendors are required.
Coordinate with the appropriate specialist vendor for major repairs.
Plumbing & General Building Maintenance
Attend to common plumbing issues, leaks and sanitary fitting defects.
Perform minor painting, touch-up and building repair works.
Restore minor defects in-house where possible to minimize vendor reliance.
Fire Safety
Conduct routine fire safety inspections and support fire drills and related exercises.
Inspect fire safety equipment and infrastructure such as hose reels, extinguishers and alarm systems.
Support fire safety compliance and certification requirements.
Facilities & Eldercare Support
Troubleshoot facilities-related equipment such as resident beds, PA systems and hose reel pump systems.
Support maintenance of kitchen and other operational equipment.
Respond promptly to facilities issues that may affect residents and caregivers.
Work in accordance with established protocols and safety requirements within an eldercare environment.
Facilities Management & Administration
Log, track and close maintenance requests using facilities management systems, CMMS or digital work-order platforms.
Maintain accurate records of preventive maintenance, inspections and repairs.
Raise purchase requisitions, obtain quotations and support procurement activities.
Coordinate external vendors when specialist support is required.
Support facilities setup, defect rectification and operational readiness for new sites
NITEC, Higher NITEC or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Facilities/Building Services, Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 1–2 years of relevant hands-on facilities maintenance experience.
Strong hands-on troubleshooting experience across M&E, ACMV, electrical, plumbing and general building maintenance.
Experience in commercial buildings such as office towers, banks or large corporate facilities will be highly relevant.
Able to independently assess facilities issues, perform first-line troubleshooting and carry out minor repairs.
Able to determine when specialist vendor support is required and identify the appropriate vendor.
Comfortable responding to urgent breakdowns and after-hours facilities matters.
Experience in healthcare, nursing homes or eldercare facilities is an advantage but not mandatory.
Fire Safety certification is an advantage but not mandatory.
Familiarity with CMMS, facilities management systems or digital work-order platforms is an advantage.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Resourceful, practical and cost-conscious, with a strong sense of ownership.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to work independently while following established facilities protocols and procedures.
