Job summary

Marina Bay Sands is seeking a Service Attendant for the bar and floor operations. You will ensure accurate beverage service, maintain knowledge of all menu items, and assist with line-ups and events.

The role requires excellent guest service, the ability to operate the POS system, manage cash and card transactions, and work shifts including weekends and holidays. Strong grooming and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain complete knowledge of: All menu items available in the bar All liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections are available in the bar All wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list Designated glassware and garnishes for drinks
  • Out of stock items Bar layout, station layout, hours of operation Inputting of items in the Info Genesis system Be aware of in-house group activities, locations and times Proper maintenance and use of equipment Proper Knowledge on operating motorized trolley procedure All department policies / service procedures Attend line-ups with other staff and review all information pertinent to the day’s Mass gaming operation. Follow departments grooming and attire standard. Communicate closely with Supervisors and bartenders to ensure quality service is achieved. Perform work and side duties in accordance with departmental procedures. Ensure to have full knowledge of L1 & B2M mass gaming floor plan including bar pantries.
  • Service attendants at SBGF are expected to push motorized complimentary beverage service trolley on the floor at designated area instructed by Supervisors. Able to perform and maintain work safety while pushing an estimated 50kg motorized trolley. To ensure motorized trolley is well maintained all time. Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks like lifting and carrying items relating to F&B and motorized trolley batteries up to 9kg. Service attendants to accurately take food and drink orders and serve the orders timely. Collection of empty glassware after the service. Prepare special items for events (RAK) in accordance with supervisor’s requests. Ensure that all materials and equipment are in complete readiness for service in accordance with business needs. Participate and contribute to all designated meetings and training sessions. Be familiar with all operation services/features and local attractions/activities to respond accurately to any guest inquiry. Anticipate, always acknowledge and respond promptly to guests’ requests. Any guest complaints/ negative feedback report to Manager on Duty / Supervisor immediately. Ensure all assigned closing duties are completed before signing out. Take part in formal training programs. Work to be part of a cooperative working climate, maximizing productivity and employee morale. Report to Manager on Duty work orders for maintenance and repairs to be submitted to Manager. Review status of assignments and any follow-up actions with Manager on Duty. Successful completion of the training/certification processes. Attend daily briefings before shift starts and all other assigned meetings.
  • Perform cashiering duties: Operate POS system when required Handle cash and credit transactions Maintain cash drawer accuracy and reconcile at end of shift
Job Requirements
  • Minimum Secondary school education with ‘O’ Level passes; Diploma in any field is an advantage
  • Experience Minimum 1 year in a guest service / guest contact role, preferably in a hospitality organization F&B & Beverage knowledge is advantageous
  • Other Prerequisites Possess food hygiene and safety certification Willing and able to work on shifts, weekends and public holidays Possess a well-groomed, professional appearance Ability to exceed guest expectations Ability to analyze and improve process and procedures Ability to interact and solve opportunities with employees and guests Have a good eye for detail, speed and accuracy Prioritize and organize, work with minimal supervision Able to push motorized trolley on the floor to serve beverages
