Job summary

=DREAMS (Singapore) Limited is seeking an Executive / Senior Executive for Scholar Development and Care to champion the continuous growth, safety and wellbeing of scholars from low-income families. The role emphasizes equity and social mobility and requires a genuine passion for helping youths thrive.

You will conduct interviews, home/school visits, and develop individualised care plans; coordinate with schools and partners; monitor progress; and participate in family engagements.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in any field.
• 3 years of experience engaging youths and/or coaching/mentoring.
• Patient, committed and values authentic relationships with diverse communities and professionals.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong teamwork abilities.
• Able to discern and make good judgments; ready to laugh with others.
• Experience working with children, youth and low-income families preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be a positive mentor and coach for youths from low-income families.
• Conduct interviews and home/school visits to understand youths, families, schools and partners.
• Develop individualised care plans for each youth.
• Develop and implement behavioural plans; nurture, nudge and discipline as needed.
• Plan interactions and activities as learning opportunities.
• Engage youths weekly/fortnightly to scaffold towards goals.
• Monitor progress and review with youths, families, schools and partners.
• Collaborate with staff, families, schools and social partners.
• Document information in the scholar management system.
• Evening work hours required since youths return after school.

=DREAMS (Singapore) Limited is a first-of-its-kind secular, co-ed weekday residential model that provides after-school academic and holistic support to promising and aspiring children from low-income households. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as anExecutive / Senior Executive,Scholar Development and Care. This individual will be responsible for the scholar’s continuous development, care, learning and safety. The successful candidate will also have a passion for equity and social mobility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Positive role model

• Be a positive mentor and coach for youths from low-income families
• Reflective and aware of one’s values, and how one relates or engages with others
• Respectful
• Open to learn and teach

Coaching and holistic development for goal attainment

• Support youths in their holistic development, motivate and build up their aspirations
• Conduct interviews, home/school visits to get to know the youths, families, schools, and other supporting partners
• Develop individualised care plan for each youth
• Develop an achievable behavioural implementation plan and be ready to nurture, nudge and discipline
• Effectively plans for interactions and activities as learning opportunities
• Conduct weekly/fortnightly engagements with youths to scaffold towards goals
• Monitor and review quarterly with youth, families, schools and other supporting partners

Family, and partnerships

• Collaborate and coordinate with staff, families, schools and other social partners
• Assess risks/needs and consult the Lead, Social Worker, Counsellor
• Take turns with the team to organise family/community events
• Conduct semesterly conferences / visits to home/schools

Administration and operations

• Document relevant information on the scholar management system in a timely manner
• Support in =Dreams programmes and other organisational activities
• Evening work hours required because the youths only return to campus after school

QUALIFICATIONS

• Diploma or degree in any fields
• 3 years of experience in engaging youths and/or experience in coaching and mentoring
• Patient, committed and value building authentic relationships with diverse communities, families and professionals

• Be a strong team player

• Experience working with children, youth and low-income families is preferred
