Job summary

MITSUI ELASTOMERS SINGAPORE PTE LTD is seeking a Quality Control Specialist to uphold and enforce QC activities, ensuring products meet ISO standards, Manufacturing Specifications, and customer requirements. The role includes document control, audits, supplier quality, and packaging trials in a fast-paced plant environment.

The incumbent will maintain QC procedures, approve lots, investigate issues, and coordinate cross-functional actions to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Chemical Process Technology or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering with at least 2 years’ relevant experience.
• ISO 9001:2015 knowledge or certification is advantageous.
• Strong communication and self-motivation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Willing to work in Jurong Island.

Responsibilities

• Maintain QC procedures and enforce ISO 9001:2015 compliance.
• Approve product lots, investigate quality issues, and enforce product quality standards.
• Perform Document Controller duties and ensure all documents are properly managed.
• Maintain and update the plant’s Quality Flowchart, raw material specifications, and COAs.
• Coordinate quality system audits and management reviews; implement corrective actions.
• Support packaging trials, cost reduction, and product improvement with cross-functional teams.
• Inspect incoming raw materials and packaging; monitor supplier quality.
• Manage quality documents (COAs, SOPs, manuals).
• Conduct supplier quality visits and audits; liaise with suppliers and internal teams.

Job description

Reporting to Manager, Quality Control, this position is responsible for maintaining and enforcing all QC activities to ensure that the products’ quality is in accordance with the ISO standards of the Quality Management System, Company’s Manufacturing Specification and customers’ requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain the quality control procedures and enforce the Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
• Approve product lots, investigate quality issues, and maintain/enforce product quality in accordance with Company’s Manufacturing specifications.
• Perform the role of Document Controller, and ensure all documents are properly managed.
• Maintain and update the plant’s Quality Flowchart, specifications of raw materials, and collate raw material Certificates of Analysis (COA).
• Coordinate the implementation of company management system audits and management reviews and ensure timely implementation of corrective and/or preventive actions.
• Coordinate and facilitate investigations with other support functions on customers’ complaints, and support Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and Logistics departments on packaging trials, cost reduction, and product improvement.
• Inspect incoming raw materials and packaging, evaluate and monitor the quality of packaging materials and incoming products governed by contractual agreements.
• Manage and update quality documents (COAs, SOPs, manuals).
• Conduct visits and quality audits of key suppliers, liaise with suppliers and internal teams on quality matters.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Chemical Process Technology or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline, with at least 2 years of relevant experience
• Possess professional certification in Quality Management System Internal Auditor will be advantageous
• Highly self-motivated, independent and resourceful
• Possess good communication skills
• Competent in Microsoft Office applications
• Willing to work in Jurong Island
