Job summary

ACS (Academy) seeks a proactive Finance Executive to manage daily finance operations, reporting, budgeting, grant management, and compliance, supporting the school's financial health and contributing to its educational mission.

Responsibilities include end-to-end accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, monthly reconciliations, audit support, and budgeting. The role strengthens internal controls and drives process improvements within a meaningful educational setting.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, or financial administration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions.
  • Process invoices, payments, receipts, staff claims, and journal entries with precision and within deadlines.
  • Maintain General Ledger accounts and prepare supporting schedules to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations to verify account accuracy and completeness.
  • Document and archive financial transactions to support audit and compliance requirements.
  • Assist in preparing monthly and year-end financial reports and management accounts for informed decision-making.
  • Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and monitor budget adherence by analysing variances and cash flow.
  • Prepare and submit grant claims and funding reports, ensuring compliance with grant conditions.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by preparing required schedules and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, organisational policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in strengthening internal controls and improving finance processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Participate in finance system improvements and process enhancement initiatives to optimise workflows.
  • Perform additional finance and administrative duties as assigned by the Manager Finance & Admin

Required competencies and certifications

  • Experience in the education, social service, charitable, or non-profit sector preferred but not necessary
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Experience with accounting systems.

  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
