Job summary

SJ Group in Singapore is seeking an experienced engineer to plan, coordinate and monitor assigned engineering and construction work scopes. You will support the Project Manager in day-to-day project delivery and coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, authorities and stakeholders on technical and site matters.

The role requires five years of relevant experience in energy or infrastructure projects, a recognized engineering degree, and WSQ safety certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering recognized by professional bodies.
• Minimum five years of relevant experience in engineering design, construction supervision or project delivery.
• Relevant experience in energy or infrastructure projects.
• Possess WSQ Supervise Workplace Safety and Health in Process Plant or equivalent.
• Able to independently manage assigned work scopes and coordinate with contractors and project stakeholders.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, method statements and construction documentation.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Responsible, proactive and able to work independently and collaboratively within a project team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and monitor assigned engineering and construction work scopes.
• Support the Project Manager in day-to-day management and delivery of projects.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, authorities and stakeholders on technical/site matters.
• Review contractors’ technical submissions, including method statements, drawings, material submissions and construction proposals.
• Monitor construction progress, quality and compliance with drawings, specs and contract requirements.
• Participate in site inspections, meetings and project coordination discussions.
• Identify and assist in resolving technical, construction and interface issues.
• Prepare and review progress reports, site records, technical correspondence and project documentation.
• Support contract administration including progress claims, variations, extension-of-time submissions and contractual correspondence.
• Monitor progress and delivery of construction materials and assigned activities.
• Prepare meeting materials, attend project meetings, and maintain minutes.
• Guide site staff in carrying out tasks and following up on project actions.
• Use project information and digital tools to support progress monitoring, reporting and decision-making.
• Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and follow through to completion.

Requirements

• Relevant experience in energy or infrastructure projects.
• Possess certification for WSQ Supervise Workplace Safety and Health in Process Plant or equivalent.
• Able to independently manage assigned work scopes and coordinate with contractors and project stakeholders.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, method statements and construction documentation.
• Good technical judgement, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Responsible, proactive and able to work independently and collaboratively within a project team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience in contract administration, progress assessment, technical review or supervision of construction works will be an advantage.
• Experience in oil&gas/petrochemical/refinery/renewables energy new construction/maintenance/renewal works will be an advantage
