Job summary

BYD (SINGAPORE) PTE. LTD. is seeking an Electrical or Mechanical Engineer to manage BYD Vehicles, Equipment and ESS engineering issues, lead system handling and cross‑functional project support.

You will coordinate training, liaise with HQ, ensure regulatory compliance, plan for spare parts and tools, and drive continuous improvement for BYD EV and ESS systems.

Qualifications

• Electrical or mechanical engineering degree required.
• Conversant with Microsoft Office.
• Candidate from automotive or transport sector would have a favourable standing.

Responsibilities

• Manage BYD Vehicles, Equipment and ESS engineering issues and related technical matters.
• Lead in handling BYD systems (vehicles, equipment, ESS) and associated engineering tasks.
• Provide engineering, aftersales & pre-sales (project) support including life cycle cost calculations and proposals.
• Assist in technical support with various departments & Headquarters.
• Test and inspection requirements before handing over to customer & after-sales; manage logistics support (spares, training, tools, manuals, catalogues).
• Ensure RAMSS (reliability, availability, maintainability, sustainability & safety) for BYD System and ESS.
• Act as point of contact for sub-contractors and for authorities & Headquarters; ensure regulatory compliance and communicate with HQ engineering units.
• Monitor, update and improve BYD System and ESS related systems and procedures.
• Conduct and assist training for BYD products and training courses for internal/external staff.

Job description

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Manage and handle BYD Vehicles, Equipment and Energy storage system (ESS) technical and Engineering issue. This include but not limited to:

1. Managing and lead in handling BYD systems (vehicles, equipment, etc.) and ESS Engineering and technical matters.

2. Engineering, aftersales & pre-sales (project) support such as：

• Life cycle cost calculation & proposal.

• Assist in technical support, with different departments & Headquarters.

• Test and inspection requirements before handing over to customer & after-sales。

• Manage BYD System and ESS integrated logistics support requirements such as spares, training, tools/ special equipment, manual, catalogue etc.

• Manage BYD system and ESS RAMSS (reliability, availability, maintainability and sustainability and safety).

• Point of contact for sub-contractors for BYD System and ESS.

• Point of contact to authority and Headquarters BYD. Ensure regulatory compliance. Work closely and keep constant communications with engineering and technology units from Headquarters (such as Shenzhen etc.) China for continuous improvement and enhancement to BYD System and/ or Electric Vehicles (EV).

• Monitor, update and improve BYD System and ESS related system and procedure etc.

• Training Management and training instruction. Assist to conduct training for BYD Products, this includes by not limited to:

1. Assist in conducting of product training for BYD.

2. Assist training coordinator in managing & handling training related matters in BYD Singapore.

3. Assist to conduct all BYD training courses as per directed by your supervisor. This includes internal and/or external, technical and/ or product training for both internal and external customers, new model/ product training for technical staff, Sales & Workshop staff for all BYD equipment such as EV, ESS, Charger courses etc.

4. To attend all courses as per directed by your supervisor whether locally or overseas and deliver the knowledge to participants instructed by BYD.

• Exchange program with HQ- Communication with HQ and Singapore counterpart, plan work/ training schedule, arrange for visa and etc.

Job Requirements:

1. Electrical or mechanical Engineering degree from a recognised university or Diploma in engineering with 3 years of working experience

2. Conversant with Microsoft office

3. Candidate from Automotive or transport related sector would have a favourable standing.
