Job summary

Soitec Microelectronics Singapore Pte. Ltd. is seeking a proactive maintenance technician responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting semiconductor manufacturing equipment to ensure high availability and efficiency.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, document activities, and support engineers in tool improvements while adhering to SOPs, safety, and quality standards. The role requires adaptability, strong problem-solving, and the ability to work independently

Qualifications

• Possess a Diploma or Professional Certificate/NiTEC in Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic Engineering or Microelectronics or equivalent.
• Knowledge in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automation systems with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A good team player with strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with metrology equipment for wafer particle inspection, thickness measurement, cleaning, sorting, packaging, and ICP-MS analysis, and AMHS equipment will be an advantage.
• Preference in prior experience with maintenance of implants, RTP, PLA or furnaces and polishing/wafers bonding/wet bench.
• Ensure compliance with EHS requirements and safety precautions, including chemical hazards and working at heights.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot semiconductor manufacturing equipment to ensure high availability and operational efficiency.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, keep accurate records and documentation, and follow SOPs and safety standards.
• Support equipment engineers in tool improvements to reduce downtime, improve performance, and enhance cost efficiency.
• Participate in CIP, equipment upgrades, process improvements and reliability projects as needed.
• Demonstrate adaptability, initiative, and the ability to work independently with minimal guidance in a fast-paced fab environment.

Job description

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting semiconductor manufacturing equipment to ensure high equipment availability, reliability, and operational efficiency. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities, maintain accurate records and documentation, and adhere to established standard operating procedures (SOP), quality standards, safety requirements, and housekeeping practices.

You will support equipment engineers in tool improvement initiatives aimed at reducing downtime, improving performance, and enhancing cost efficiency while ensuring compliance with departmental guidelines and corporate policies. There will be opportunities to participate in continuous improvement projects (CIP), equipment upgrades, process improvements, and reliability enhancement projects.

You must possess a high degree of adaptability and initiative, with the ability to learn quickly and be capable of working independently with minimal guidance as the role may require periods of autonomous work, strong problem-solving skills and self-discipline

Requirements:

• Possess a Diploma or Professional Certificate/NiTEC in Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic Engineering or Microelectronics or equivalent.

• Possess knowledge in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automation systems with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• A good team player with strong communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to collaborate across lateral and vertical stakeholders.

• Experience with metrology equipment for wafer particle inspection, thickness measurement, cleaning, sorting, packaging, and ICP-MS analysis, as well as AMHS equipment such as stockers and Overhead Hoist Transport (OHT) systems, will be an advantage.

• Preference in any prior experience in maintenance of Implant, RTP (Rapid Thermal Processing), PLA (Plasma) or Horizontal or Vertical Furnaces

• Preference in any prior experience in polishing, wafer bonding, wet bench, single wafer cleaning.

• Ensure compliance with EHS requirements on work risks and safety precautions, including chemical hazards, working at heights, and maintaining a safe working environment.

• You are required to work 12-hour rotating shifts to provide operational support for production activities and ensure timely responses to equipment-related issues in a fast-paced semiconductor manufacturing environment.
