Job summary

Seagate International Headquarters Pte. Ltd. in Singapore is seeking a hands-on engineering trainee to rotate across stations, assembling and testing high-precision sputtering equipment.

You will read drawings, perform calibration and troubleshooting using multimeters and oscilloscopes, and work with engineers to implement improvements. A diploma in electrical/electronics/mechatronics is required, with readiness for a 12-hour night shift if needed.

Responsibilities

About the role - you will:

• Rotate across multiple workstations to gain exposure to different stages of assembling, building, configuring, and testing high-precision sputtering equipment.

• Perform assembly, integration, and testing activities based on engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.

• Use electrical and electronic test equipment such as Multimeters and Oscilloscopes to perform measurement, verification, troubleshooting, and calibration activities.

• Conduct calibration, diagnosis, repair, and functional testing of electronic control boxes and PCBAs.

• Interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to support equipment assembly and troubleshooting.

• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and system-related issues to ensure equipment performance and reliability.

• Support engineers in implementing design modifications, process improvements, and engineering change activities.

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance, quality, and operational efficiency.

• Work closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges and expand your engineering knowledge.

About you:

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering disciplines.

• Passionate about hands-on machine assembly work and interested in understanding how complex equipment systems operate.

• Strong interest in electrical testing, troubleshooting, and equipment technology.

• Self-motivated, eager to learn, and willing to take on new technical challenges.

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Team player with a positive attitude and strong learning agility.

• Comfortable working in a cleanroom manufacturing environment.

Your experience includes:

• Experience in equipment assembly, equipment maintenance, electrical testing, manufacturing, automation, or related technical environments.

• Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, wiring, calibration, or electronic repair will be advantageous.

• Experience using Multimeters and Oscilloscopes is will be advantages.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, or technical documentation will be an advantage.
