Job summary

GovTech Singapore is recruiting a senior engineering leader to own end-to-end delivery of full-stack systems in a defence-focused context. You will set technical direction, align with product and stakeholders, and ensure security, reliability, and compliance across frontend, backend, and data layers.

Responsibilities include overseeing hiring, mentoring, and performance management; collaborating in architecture reviews; removing delivery blockers; and representing the team in governance forums.

Qualifications

• 8+ years engineering experience with team leadership and ownership.
• Experience in secure, regulated or defence-oriented environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication with non-technical partners.
• Proven ability to lead full-stack delivery and technical direction.
• Experience hiring, coaching, and growing engineering talent.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end technical delivery for full-stack systems and set direction.
• Ensure outputs meet security, reliability, and compliance in defence environment.
• Balance feature delivery with stability: tech debt, incidents, production upkeep.
• Participate in architecture and design reviews with tech leads and stakeholders.
• Manage people cycle: 1:1s, performance feedback, growth planning, leadership grooming.
• Lead or contribute to hiring: screening, interviews, building lean high-performing team.
• Act as primary liaison between engineering and defence stakeholders; translate needs.
• Identify and remove blockers; manage dependencies and organizational friction.
• Represent team in cross-functional planning and governance forums.
• Establish engineering quality standards: code reviews, testing, on-call practices.
