SETSCO SERVICES PTE LTD is seeking an Engineering Assistant to support QA/QC, welding qualification testing, and inspection-related activities in Singapore. The role involves coordinating WPQT/WQT, maintaining qualification records, and assisting engineers on technical studies and client assignments.
You'll liaise with clients, inspectors, and certification bodies, maintain quality documentation, and participate in audits.
Assist in the administration and coordination of Welder Performance Qualification Tests (WPQT) and Welder Qualification Tests (WQT).
Prepare test schedules, inspection reports, qualification records, and supporting documentation.
Participate in internal and external audits, including preparation of audit evidence and follow-up actions.
Assist Engineers in managing special projects, technical studies, and client assignments.
Coordinate with clients, inspectors, and certification bodies.
Maintain databases, records, and quality documentation.
Support on-site inspections and witness testing activities when required.
Perform other engineering and technical duties as assigned.
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, Welding Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
Candidates with relevant inspection, QA/QC, welding, or audit experience will have an added advantage.
Diploma / Polytechnic graduate in an engineering discipline.
Good command of written and spoken English & proficient in Mandarin to effectively liaise with Mandarin-speaking clients
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Able to travel to customer sites within Singapore when required.
Knowledge of welding, NDT, QA/QC, or inspection activities.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
Understanding of engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Exposure to audits, testing, or certification activities.
CSWIP, ASNT, NACE, or related inspection qualifications.
Responsible and self-motivated.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
Willing to develop a career in inspection, auditing, and certification services.
This role is offered on a one-year renewable contract, subject to satisfactory individual performance and business requirements.
