Job summary

ST Engineering is seeking an Engineer, Propulsion to join our Aero division at 501 Airport Rd, SG. You will prescribe workscopes for engine repair or overhaul and liaise with customers to report engine condition and technical issues.

You will lead new capability setup, perform hazard identifications for aviation safety, design and commission tooling, and review airworthiness publications to keep shopfloor instructions current.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering.
  • Strong fundamentals in engineering drawings.
  • Understanding of aircraft propulsion is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Good team player.

Responsibilities

  • Prescribe workscopes for engine repair or overhaul.
  • Liaise with customers to report and discuss engine condition and technical issues.
  • Integrate customer requirements into internal work processes.
  • Liaise with OEM for technical support and latest updates.
  • Lead first article qualification for new processes and equipment.
  • Perform hazard identification and risk assessment on aviation safety for new processes and equipment.
  • Design and commission new tooling or fixtures.
  • Evaluate equivalency for tooling and consumables.
  • Review publications from airworthiness authorities and OEM, and integrate into internal work processes.
  • Provide technical support to shopfloor on engine disassembly/assembly, inspection.
  • Troubleshoot faults or defects that arise during engine testing.
  • Review and streamline work processes for process improvement.
  • Compile and analyse engine build and performance data to provide recommendations to improve engine reliability and performance, while reducing cost of engine repair.
  • Compile and analyse engine testing data to provide recommendations to improve engine testing First Pass Yield and minimise engine troubleshooting in test cell.
  • Investigate engine incidents or defects, identify root cause(s), and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
