Job summary

ASM International in Singapore is seeking an Engineer I, Manufacturing Engineering to drive operational excellence across semiconductor equipment production lines. You will collaborate with global operations to resolve manufacturing challenges, improve cycle times, and ensure product quality and timely delivery.

You will define procedures, create build/test sequences, and develop quality documentation while partnering with suppliers and cross-functional teams to drive timely solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Internship experience will be considered.
• Experience in equipment assembly and test within Semiconductor or Capital Equipment.
• Familiarity with material fabrication processes, component installation, and assembly integration.
• Understanding of Bill of Materials structure and revision changes.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and driving change.
• Knowledge of operational excellence tools such as Lean Manufacturing, FMEA, 8D, PDCA, DMAIC, Six Sigma, Cpk, GR&R, and SPC.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Global Operations teams to optimize manufacturing processes, cycle time, assembly sequence, and quality.
• Provide first-line engineering support to resolve daily operational issues in semiconductor equipment manufacturing.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet daily product delivery targets aligned with production schedules and quality standards.
• Perform systematic troubleshooting and root cause analysis of manufacturing issues and deviations.
• Define and create manufacturing procedures, build/test sequences, and quality documentation (work instructions, test procedures, inspection checklists).
• Liaise with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and internal teams to drive timely solutions.
• Lead continuous improvement projects focused on quality, cost, capacity, and efficiency.
• Deliver tooling and test equipment that meet product requirements and enhance manufacturing efficiency.

What we are looking for
