Job summary

AIG Asia Pacific Insurance Pte. Ltd. is seeking an Underwriting Manager, Energy to drive APAC energy underwriting strategy. You will handle new business and renewals, underwrite accounts, and coordinate with risk engineering, claims, and analytics teams to ensure competitive pricing.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, 2+ years in energy/construction underwriting or brokerage, strong financial analysis, and Excel proficiency. Office-based with collaboration across teams and brokers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree.
• Strong knowledge in financial/credit analysis and interpretation of financial statements.
• Minimum 2 years of experience underwriting or brokerage in energy and construction.
• Experience in account management, dealing with stakeholders (Brokers etc).
• Independent, able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical skills and proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Results oriented and highly accountable.
• Foreign language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assess and underwrite prospect business and renewal accounts in APAC in line with authority and guidelines.
• Work with risk engineering, claims and analytical support teams to assess risk quality and pricing.
• Negotiate contract terms with brokers and clients.
• Adhere to procedures and documentation management standards.
• Ensure underwriting information is maintained accurately in systems.
• Foster strong relationships with external and internal partners.
• Understand clients’ businesses to develop effective insurance solutions.
• Attend client/broker meetings, presentations and industry events for the company.
• Participate in special underwriting projects as required.
• Work cross-functionally with other underwriting teams to achieve objectives.
