Job summary

AIG Asia Pacific Insurance Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Senior Underwriter for Group Accident & Health to drive profitable growth through technical expertise and strong client relationships. You will underwrite new and renewal business, negotiate terms, and mentor junior underwriters.

You will collaborate with agents, financial advisers and internal teams, develop training, and participate in regional initiatives to expand the business while upholding AIG's Total Rewards program.

Qualifications

• Proven underwriting experience, with good knowledge of Group A&H.
• Proven track record of developing new business and achieving renewal retention targets in Group Accident & Health.
• The ability to analyze financial statements.
• Strong communication, networking and relationship building skills.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Customer and Sales orientated behaviors: motivated, tenacious, focused, technically skilled, proactive, and accountable.
• An interest in mentoring and training if you have not held these duties previously.
• Experienced in providing producer training and participate in tender interview.
• Outgoing person who is a strong team player with results driven focus and customer centric mindset.
• Business development and Agency and Financial Advisers management skillset.
• Entrepreneur mentality with the ability to think strategically to develop business.

Responsibilities

• Drive profitable growth for Group A&H by underwriting new and renewal business, using strong relationship skills.
• Underwrite and administer a profitable portfolio within AIG’s guidelines.
• Communicate risk appetite to Agents and Financial Advisers; negotiate pricing and terms with brokers and clients.
• Expand Agency and Financial Advisers network; attend events and build market relationships.
• Provide guidance, mentoring, and training to less‑experienced underwriters.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and intermediaries through regular engagement.
• Participate in regional initiatives including product development.
• Plan and conduct product training to intermediaries to grow sales.
• Handle additional activities and projects assigned by superiors.
