Job summary

THE LANTAU GROUP (SINGAPORE) PTE. LTD. seeks an energetic analyst to model electricity markets and generate insights for clients in Asia. You will develop and apply quantitative tools, work with data on generation, demand, and fuel prices, and present findings to consulting teams.

You will collaborate with experienced power professionals, grow your modelling skills, and gain exposure to Asia-Pacific energy markets early in your career.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in economics, finance, engineering, natural sciences, or another quantitative discipline with strong academics.
• Proficiency in Python, R, or MATLAB/GNU Octave for data analysis and model development.
• Experience with datasets such as generation, demand, fuel prices, or policy/regulatory information.

Responsibilities

• Operate in-house quantitative models to analyse regional electricity markets (training provided).
• Assist in developing, maintaining, and enhancing quantitative models of electricity and energy markets for forecasting and scenario analysis.
• Analyse market data to identify drivers and patterns affecting prices and demand.
• Translate modelling results into clear, actionable client insights and recommendations.
• Prepare and present technical findings, visualisations, and reports to stakeholders.
• Work with consultants to integrate modelling outcomes into broader analytical deliverables.
• Initial focus on the Philippine electricity market with potential expansion to other markets as you grow in the role.
