Job summary

AURORA ENERGY RESEARCH PTE. LTD. is seeking a quantitative analyst in Singapore to develop rigorous analyses of the Chinese energy market and to translate insights into client-ready recommendations.

You will work with our modelling team to structure problems and quantify results, while also engaging clients to understand their needs and expand capabilities. Qualifications

• Degree in a quantitative subject (Maths, Economics, Physics, Engineering, Finance) with strong energy market interest.
• Ability to collect, analyze and interpret complex quantitative data.
• Proven ability to perform in team settings.
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Fluent Mandarin (reading, writing, speaking).

Job description

Based in Singapore, you will contribute to the firm, by developing analysis and conveying insights on the Chinese energy market to enhance clients' decision-making as they navigate the energy transition. You will play an active role in all aspects of client engagement: helping identify issues, forming hypotheses, conducting analysis, and synthesising conclusions into recommendations. You will work in a dynamic, intellectually stimulating, and demanding yet supportive environment. You will enjoy autonomy, the opportunity to substantially influence major decisions in the energy sector, and to grow into industry experts under the guidance of directors with deep experience addressing major strategic issues at the world's leading electricity market modelling firm.

Key Responsibiliti es -

• You will develop timely and rigorous quantitative analyses on the Chinese energy market to enhance clients' decision making.
• You will work closely with our modelling team, structuring economic problems into quantifiable analyses and deriving insights from the model results.
• You will contribute to our product development, by identifying new opportunities and expanding our capabilities.
• You will engage with clients to thoroughly understand their requirements.
• You will communicate findings to clients.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise -

Required attributes:

• First-class or high second-class degree in a quantitative subject (Mathematics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, Finance), coupled with a keen interest in energy markets and policy developments
• Ability to collect, analyse and interpret complex quantitative data and information
• Evidence of strong performance in team-oriented environments
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with both technical and non-technical parties
• Fluent in Mandarin (reading, writing and speaking)
