Job summary

Wipro Limited (Singapore Branch) is seeking a senior backup administrator with 8–12 years of hands-on experience to manage backup infrastructure, DR exercises and ITSM queue handling. The role involves coordinating with vendors, performing root-cause analysis, and ensuring security controls are in place.

The candidate will operate Dell NetWorker, VTL/PTL, and tape libraries, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain performance, compliance and resilience.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of hands-on Backup/Restore experience.
• Experience handling ITSM queues for BAU, Projects, incidents.
• Plan, prepare and execute Change tasks in ITSM queues.
• Respond to alerts from monitoring systems and manage backup infrastructure.
• Operate data backup solutions including VTL, PTL, tapes and encryption devices.
• Coordinate DR/BC exercises and data center maintenance.
• Perform RCA in incidents and problems, and address vulnerabilities from scans/audits.
• Plan and coordinate with vendors for backup infrastructure upgrades.
• ITIL knowledge and familiarity with Service Now or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily monitoring and reporting of backup jobs and troubleshoot failures.
• Manage and operate backup software and client agents for new requirements.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners on hardware/software break/fix cases.
• Respond to L1/L2 escalations and participate in incident management.
• Document SOPs and knowledge articles for future reference.
• Extract and prepare data for dashboards on capacity, health checks, and IT controls.

Job description

Role Summary

• Must have at least 8-12 years of Backup/Restore
• Take up technical tasks in the ITSM queues to resolve day-to-day BAU / Project Requests and Incidents
• Plan, prepare and execute Change technical tasks in the ITSM queues
• Respond to and resolve alerts from the monitoring management system
• Manage, maintain and operate data backup solution including VTL, PTL, tapes media and encryption devices.
• Manage, maintain and operate data backup replication between Data Centers
• Configure and operate backup software, client agents, backup jobs and tape libraries for new backup requirements
• Perform daily monitoring & reporting of backup jobs, and troubleshoot & resolve backup failures with clients/partners
• Plan, prepare and coordinate with vendors for campaign upgrades for Backup infrastructure
• Perform storage performance analysis and troubleshoot backup-related performance/capacity issues with other teams (Platform, Database, etc)
• Perform basic to intermediate root cause analysis in Incident and Problem tasks
• Identify, assess and remediate vulnerabilities reported by security sources (scan report, pen test, audit finding, etc)
• Plan, prepare, execute and support Data Center maintenance activities
• Plan, prepare, execute and support Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity exercises
• Coordinate and deliver with internal clients/partners and external vendors for hardware break/fix cases, software cases, etc
• Respond to and own L1/L2 escalations
• Engage in taskforce resolution squad in priority incident management / crisis management cases
• Document, review, maintain and share technical information and write-up (primarily, SOP) as part of Knowledge Management
• Extract and prepare data needed for reporting and dashboard (capacity planning, health checks, IT controls, compliance, audit, etc)
• Engage in Service Improvement review and actions plan

• Backup failover/failback in Disaster Recovery operations
• Basic working knowledge of Windows and Red Hat Operating Systems and backup-related configuration parameters
• Work with tools such as CyberArk (privileged access management), OMI suite (events/alerts management)

Shift / Oncall & Weekend Support are part of the Job

Flexible to work on shifts / weekends / Oncall support as followed.

Oncall Support

To provide Oncall support services on rotational basis

• 11:30PM to 4:30AM on weekdays after end of the Evening Shift work (Apr to Oct)
• 00:30AM to 4:30AM on weekdays after end of the Evening Shift 1 work (Nov to Mar)
• Both Saturday and Sunday from Saturday 00:00AM to Monday 4:30AM

Weekend Support

Mandatory to work on every 3rd Saturday of every month

Public Holiday Support

Paris (Client) Holidays will be followed as public holidays

Process & Tools

• ITSM tool – Service Now as Ticketing tool for INC/SR/Change/Problem tickets
• Basic knowledge on ITIL Process & Practices

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Information Technology or pertinent programs
