Job summary

PCSS is seeking a backup and recovery specialist to administer and support enterprise backup platforms, ensuring high availability and performance. You will troubleshoot data paths, coordinate with vendors, and implement permanent fixes across servers, storage and network components.

Responsibilities include deploying and maintaining backup solutions (including Dell PPDM and Avamar), working with Kubernetes and NAS workloads, and contributing to ITIL-aligned incident, problem and change

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently as an individual contributor with strong team collaboration.
• Demonstrates ownership to drive tasks independently.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor and support enterprise backup and recovery platforms to ensure high availability, performance and successful backup operations.
• Perform end-to-end troubleshooting of backup failures, restore requests and infrastructure issues across servers, storage and network components.
• Diagnose backup data paths from client systems to storage targets, including verification of Data Domain appliances, hardware health, storage performance and network connectivity.
• Manage backup operations using Dell PPDM and Avamar.
• Deploy, configure and maintain backup solutions for physical servers, virtual machines, NAS workloads and Kubernetes environments.
• Coordinate with technology vendors and internal engineering teams to resolve incidents, perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
• Support infrastructure changes, patching, upgrades, capacity planning and technology refresh initiatives.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, knowledge articles and system configurations.
• Participate in incident, problem and change management processes in accordance with ITIL best practices.
• Provide technical support to customers and stakeholders while ensuring service levels and operational excellence are maintained.
