Job summary

VAST Data seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to embed within strategic customer environments, owning technical success from design through production. You will collaborate with customer architects and operators to optimize infrastructure and translate real-world requirements into core product improvements.

You will write code, develop automation tools, and create API endpoints while advocating for the customer and aligning their needs with the VAST roadmap. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a highly technical engineering role with customer-facing work.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, high-performance storage, and networking.
• Proficiency in Python and C/C++, with ability to contribute to a complex codebase.
• Experience operating large-scale AI training environments or HPC clusters a plus.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes and modern AI/ML frameworks preferred.
