Job summary
RS Electrical & Engineering (S) Pte. Ltd. is seeking a hands-on electrical technician to assist with installation, testing and commissioning of 750V DC traction power systems for MRT projects.
You will help inspect DC switchgear, cables and protection equipment, and assist engineers in testing and troubleshooting power supply and distribution systems. You will read drawings and specs, monitor installation works, follow high-voltage safety procedures, and maintain records of inspection, testing
Qualifications
- Experience with 750V DC traction power systems is preferred.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and MRT specs.
- Familiarity with high-voltage safety procedures is essential.
Responsibilities
- Assist with installation, testing and commissioning of 750V DC traction power electrical systems for MRT projects.
- Inspect and maintain DC switchgear, cables, isolators, protection equipment and related electrical systems.
- Assist engineers in testing and troubleshooting 750V DC power supply and distribution systems.
- Carry out electrical measurements, insulation tests and continuity checks using approved testing equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and MRT technical specifications.
- Monitor electrical installation works and ensure compliance with project requirements and safety procedures.
- Assist with fault finding, rectification and preventive maintenance of 750V DC equipment.
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors and site teams during installation and testing activities.
- Maintain inspection, testing, maintenance and commissioning records.
- Follow high-voltage/DC electrical safety procedures, isolation and permit-to-work requirements at MRT sites.
