Job summary

TOSHIBA TEC SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is seeking an Electrical Engineer to contribute to product design and reliability. You will evaluate components, perform failure analysis, and support continuous improvement across cross-functional teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and at least two years in product design and testing, including MCU/MPU work, documentation, BOM management, and the use of test equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years in product design and development with MCU/MPU design.
• Minimum 2 years in product testing and failure analysis with testing equipment.
• Strong knowledge of electronic components and reading schematics.
• Familiarity with serial interfaces (SPI, I2C, RS232, USB, SATA).
• BOM management or value engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct product evaluation and verification testing per test plans and document results.
• Perform failure analysis and troubleshoot defective products to identify root causes.
• Evaluate components from AVL to support value engineering and sourcing.
• Prepare and update drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
• Analyze test data and recommend improvements for performance and reliability.
• Provide technical support during prototype builds and product development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve products.

Conduct product evaluation and testing to ensure quality and reliability. Collaborate with teams to troubleshoot, analyze failures, and support product development and continuous improvement.

Job Description:

• Conduct product evaluation and verification testing following established test plans and document results for analysis and future reference
• Perform failure analysis and troubleshoot defective products and components to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions
• Evaluate and select components from the Approved Vendor List (AVL) by comparing specifications to support value engineering and alternative sourcing initiatives
• Prepare, maintain, and update technical documentation, including assembly drawings, parts drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOM)
• Analyze test data and provide recommendations to improve product performance, quality, and reliability
• Provide technical and documentation support during prototype builds, production sample builds, and product development activities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and support continuous product improvement

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience in product design and development, including microcontroller/microprocessor-based design
• Minimum 2 years of experience in product testing, failure analysis, and use of test equipment for troubleshooting
• Strong knowledge of electronic components, circuit fundamentals, and ability to read engineering drawings/schematics
• Familiarity with mechanical control systems and communication interfaces such as SPI, I2C, RS232, Parallel, USB, and SATA
• Experience in BOM management, component selection, or value engineering
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams
• Self-motivated with ability to meet deadlines and willingness to work overtime when required
