Job summary

VisionPower Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Pte. Ltd. in Singapore seeks an Environmental, Health and Safety specialist to develop and implement EHS programmes at a semiconductor fab.

You will identify and manage EHS risks, ensure regulatory compliance, provide guidance, and drive continuous improvement across environmental, occupational health, process safety and workplace safety. The role requires strong analytical skills, collaboration across functions and a proactive approach to safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Science or a relevant discipline.
• Experience in EHS, environmental management, occupational safety, industrial hygiene, process safety.
• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing or similar industrial environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct EHS hazard and risk assessments, workplace evaluations, inspections and audits, and drive corrective actions.
• Manage EHS licenses, testing and inspection requirements, and maintain regulatory documentation.
• Review fab processes and operations to identify EHS risks and ensure compliance.
• Support process safety and continuously enhance EHS programmes and culture for staff and contractors.
• Assist emergency preparedness and response activities through the ERC.
• Collaborate to maintain EHS management systems and certifications (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 22301).
• Provide technical and regulatory support to address EHS risks and emerging issues.
• Support site sustainability initiatives, including energy and water conservation.
• Drive timely closure of EHS findings with relevant departments.
• Promote EHS awareness through training and campaigns.
• Monitor EHS performance and prepare KPI dashboards and trend analyses.

Job description

Role Summary

Responsible or developing, implementing and continuously improving Environmental, Health, Safety and Industrial Hygiene programmes within a semiconductor manufacturing facility.

The role supports safe and compliant fab operations by identifying and managing EHS risks, ensuring regulatory and corporate compliance, providing technical guidance, and driving continuous improvement across environmental, occupational health, process safety and workplace safety programmes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct EHS hazard and risk assessments, workplace evaluations, inspections and audits, and drive appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage relevant EHS licenses, testing and inspection requirements, and maintain necessary regulatory and compliance documentation.
• Review new and existing fab processes, equipment and operations to identify EHS risks and ensure compliance, including requirements related to chemicals, gases, waste, air, water and other environmental aspects.
• Support semiconductor process safety and continuously enhance EHS programmes, standards and culture for employees and contractors.
• Support emergency preparedness and response activities through the Emergency Response Centre (ERC), including fire, gas leak, chemical and other emergency response activities.
• Collaborate with relevant functions to maintain and improve EHS management systems and certifications, including ISO 14001, ISO45001, ISO 22301 and SS 651, where applicable.
• Provide technical, regulatory and process support to address EHS risks and emerging issues.
• Support site sustainability initiatives, including energy and water conservation, waste reduction and greenhouse gas reduction programmes.
• Drive timely closure of EHS findings and improvement actions in collaboration with relevant departments.
• Promote EHS awareness through training, communication campaigns and engagement activities.
• Monitor EHS performance and prepare regular reports, KPI dashboards and trend analysis to support continuous improvement.

Key Requirement

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Science or a relevant discipline, such as Occupational Health & Safety, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or Emergency Management.
• Relevant experience in EHS, environmental management, occupational safety, industrial hygiene, process safety or related engineering functions.
• Experience in semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, chemically intensive manufacturing or other industrial environments is preferred.
• Working knowledge of applicable EHS legislation, regulatory requirements, risk management principles and EHS management systems.
• Relevant professional or industry certifications, such as MOM Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO), Senior Fire Safety Manager (SFSM), Singapore Certified Energy Manager (SCEM) or other recognized EHS qualifications, will be an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks, interpret data and develop practical solutions.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrates ownership, adaptability, resilience, continuous learning and a strong commitment to safety, compliance and continuous improvement.
• Willingness to travel for training or business requirements, including overseas training where required.

• Where relevant to the job role and scope of responsibilities, the jobholder may be appointed to statutory or regulatory roles (e.g. Fire Safety Manager, WSH Officer, Energy Manager, Water Efficiency Manager, Environmental Control Officer, Licensed Electrical Worker, or Radiation Protection Officer). Such appointments form part of the core role and applicable job grade, with no separate appointment allowance.
• The jobholder is responsible for maintaining all required certifications and CPD, reporting any lapse immediately, and discharging applicable statutory duties independently with direct reporting to the occupier on statutory compliance matters.
