Job summary

VisionPower Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Pte. Ltd. invites applications for an Emergency Response role to join our ERC team.

You will plan, respond to and recover from EHS incidents affecting health, environment and process safety, while maintaining critical safety systems and conducting inspections. The position requires shift work to support 24/7 plant operation and a diploma in Engineering/Science with relevant safety certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in Engineering/Science or related field.
• Knowledge of EHS, regulatory compliance and emergency response is an advantage.
• Certifications in industrial safety, fire protection or emergency response (FSM, CERT or equivalent) are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and implement plant emergency response plans.
• Organise and conduct CERT drills, exercises and training programmes.
• Operate and monitor safety systems in the ERC and perform safety inspections.
• Act as first responder for EHS incidents including management and reporting.
• Maintain emergency equipment, fire protection and gas monitoring systems.
• Perform 24/7 shift duties to support 24/7 plant operations.
• Support audits and joint exercises with SCDF.

Job description

Role Summary

You will be part of the Emergency Response Centre (ERC)team, responsible for planning, responding to and recovering from EHS incidents arising from workplace health, environmental and/or work processes.

You will have the opportunity to continually improve the company's emergency response readiness and Company Emergency Response Team(CERT) capabilities. You will also be involved in maintaining and monitoring the Fire Protection System, Gas Monitoring System and CCTV systems.

This role involves shift work to support the safe and continuous operation

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and implement plant emergency response plans.
• Organize and conduct CERT drills, exercises and training programmes.
• Operate and monitor various safety monitoring systems in the Emergency Response Centre, troubleshoot system-related issues where required, and perform safety inspections within the factory area.
• Act as a first responder for EHS incidents, including incident management, emergency response, coordination and reporting.
• Plan and perform maintenance and upkeep of emergency response equipment, fire protection equipment and gas monitoring systems.
• Safely perform the essential functions of emergency-response duties, including the proper use of required PPE and safety equipment, in accordance with established safety procedures and job requirements. Any physical or functional requirements will be assessed based on the actual requirements of the role, with reasonable accommodation considered where applicable.
• Carry out on-site safety inspections of hazardous and high-risk operations in accordance with established safety procedures and requirements.
• Perform shift duties to support the safe and continuous operation of the plant on a 24/7 basis.
• Support the planning and implementation of fire protection and emergency response plan audits, including joint exercises with the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).
• Support ad hoc ISEP/ERC-related matters as assigned by the supervisor.

Key Requirement

• Diploma or higher diploma in Engineering, Science or a related discipline, such as Occupational Safety, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Emergency Response or Emergency Management.
• Relevant experience in semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, chemically intensive manufacturing or a related industrial environment is an advantage.
• Knowledge or experience in EHS, regulatory compliance, emergency response, fire protection or workplace safety is an advantage.
• Relevant certifications in industrial safety, environmental protection, fire protection or emergency response, such as FSM,CERT or relevant WSH qualifications, will be an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across functions and with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.

• Where relevant to the job role and scope of responsibilities, the jobholder may be appointed to statutory or regulatory roles (e.g. Fire Safety Manager, WSH Officer, Energy Manager, Water Efficiency Manager, Environmental Control Officer, Licensed Electrical Worker, or Radiation Protection Officer). Such appointments form part of the core role and applicable job grade, with no separate appointment allowance.
• The jobholder is responsible for maintaining all required certifications and CPD, reporting any lapse immediately, and discharging applicable statutory duties independently with direct reporting to the occupier on statutory compliance matters.
