Job summary

Dynamics Therapy Centre for Kids in Singapore seeks an Educational Therapist to provide individualized or small group support for children with learning difficulties and behavioral challenges. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology / education (Special Education) or Early Childhood (Special Needs) or related field.
  • Proficient in teaching the MOE Primary and Secondary School curriculum.
  • Able to teach English, Chinese and Mathematics up to the GCE 'O' Level.
  • Skilled with a wide age range of learners, adapting strategies to developmental stages.
  • Trained in literacy and phonics intervention programs such as Orton-Gillingham & Lindamood-Bell, and numeracy support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one intervention with learners having mild to moderate difficulties or behavioral concerns.
  • Employ an inclusive teaching approach combining curriculum, remediation, and cognitive skills training.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify strengths and challenges.
  • Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with each student’s needs and goals.
  • Use evidence-based strategies to support dyslexia, ADHD, executive functioning, and related challenges.
  • Monitor and document progress, adjusting interventions to achieve outcomes.
  • Engage students with varied activities to arouse and sustain interest.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and professionals for holistic student support.
  • Provide guidance and training to educators and parents on effective strategies.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Educational Therapist to provide individualized or small group intervention for children with mild to moderate learning difficulties, specificlearning disorders, and/or emotional and behavioral challenges. The roleinvolves delivering holistic support that integrates curriculum Instruction,remediation, and cognitive skill development to help each learner reach theirfull potential.

JobResponsibilities
  • a) Provide one-to-one intervention with mild to moderate learning difficulties, specific learning difficulties and/or childrenwith emotional or behavioral concerns.
  • b) Teachingin all-inclusive approach which includes curriculum, remediation, and cognitiveskills training (e.g., memory, Visual skills and Auditory and listening skillsetc).
  • c) Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students' learningstrengths and challenges.
  • d) Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) that align with eachstudent’s needs and goals.
  • e) Use evidence-based strategies to support students with dyslexia, ADHD,executive functioning deficits and other learning challenges.
  • f) Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions asnecessary to achieve desired outcomes.
  • g) Abilityto arouse and sustain interest /involvement from children through varied activities.
  • h) Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure aholistic approach to student support.
  • i) Provide guidance and training to educators and parents on effectivestrategies to support students with learning differences.
  • j) Abilityto participate in and contribute to multi-disciplinary assessment, planning, implementation,and evaluation process.
Requirement
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology / education (Special Education) or Early Childhood (Special Needs) or related field.
  • Proficient in teaching the MOE Primary and Secondary School curriculum, withfamiliarity in syllabus requirements and academic expectations.
  • Able toteach multiple core subjects including English, Chinese and Mathematics, up to the GCE ‘O’ Level standard.
  • Skilled inworking with a wide age range of learners, from early years to secondary school level, adapting teaching strategies to suit developmentalstages.
  • Trained inspecialized literacy and phonics intervention programs, such as the Orton-GillinghamApproach, Lindamood-Bell program, and in numeracy support, including Dyscalculia intervention strategies.
  • Experiencedin supporting children with developmental and/or learning difficulties,including Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dyspraxia, ADHD, and mild autism spectrumdisorder (ASD).
