Job summary

GMP Technologies on Jurong Island is seeking an E&I Engineer to support electrical and instrumentation maintenance in a chemical manufacturing environment. You will plan daily, ad-hoc, and shutdown activities, ensure safety, efficiency, and budget adherence, and coordinate with a team and external vendors.

The candidate should hold a degree in Electrical/Instrumentation/Mechatronics and have 3+ years in petrochemical/pharma sectors.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Instrumentation/Mechatronics Engineering or related discipline.
• At least 3 years of petrochemical/pharmaceutical industries experience.
• Sound knowledge of electrical equipment, process instruments and process control.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare daily, ad-hoc, and shutdown maintenance safely within schedule and budget.
• Coach and mentor Senior/Superintendent staff.
• Review maintenance planning and execution documents (e.g., Long Term Maintenance Plan, Critical Equipment List).
• Draft and revise maintenance work procedures and work instructions.
• Collaborate to analyze plant equipment data for predictive to preventive maintenance and ISO documentation.
• Support shutdown maintenance planning and execution including statutory inspection of equipment.
• Provide technical support to plants, production, and external vendors.
• Lead troubleshooting of complex problems and drive countermeasures.
• Propose improvement ideas and lead projects for management consideration.
• Execute electrical & instrumentation modification works.
• Conduct training for internal stakeholders and in-house contractors.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and plan for daily/ad-hoc/shut-down maintenance activities to be executed safely, efficiently within schedule and allocated budget.
• Oversee a team of Senior/Superintendent in providing coaching and mentoring to them.
• Evaluation all maintenance planning and work execution documents (e.g. Long Term Maintenance Plan, Critical Equipment List etc.)
• Draft and revise new/current maintenance work procedures and work instructions.
• Collaborating with Senior/Superintendent to analyse data of plants critical equipment from predictive to preventive maintenance activities to make recommendations and/or counter-measures, to upkeep proper documentation of maintenance and improvement works, to fulfil ISO requirements by establishing procedures and calibration forms and training of personnel.
• Supporting the Senior/Superintendent to plan, execute and coordination the Shut Down Maintenance (SDM) work in assigned plants including statutory inspection of equipment.
• Provide prompt and effective technical support to assigned plants including to Production, Technical & Coordination section as well to external vendors.
• Lead and conduct troubleshooting of complex problems to work with relevant stakeholders to resolve systematically and identify effective countermeasures.
• Propose improvement ideas and lead team initiatives for management consideration as well to drive the implementation of improvement initiatives and projects.
• Execute assigned engineering and minor modification works, focusing on Electrical & Instrumentation aspects, in assigned plants.
• Conduct training for internal stakeholders and in-house contractors on specific technical topics for presentations and toolbox briefings.

Requirements:

• Candidate should possess at least Degree in Electrical/Instrumentation/ Mechatronics Engineering or related discipline preferably with at least 3 years of petrochemical/pharmaceutical industries.
• Sound technical knowledge of functionality of common chemical processing plant electrical equipment, process instrument & process control
