Job summary

United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) in Singapore is seeking an Equipment Engineer to help monitor inline SPC issues, maintain tool availability, and collaborate with production and process teams to troubleshoot and improve output.

You should have a bachelor’s degree in electronics / electrical & electronics or a related field and at least 2 years of experience in a semiconductor environment; strong analytical thinking, communication, and time management are essential; willingness to work

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electronics, electrical & electronics, mechanical, chemical, materials science, physics, aerospace or automation.
  • At least 2 years of relevant semiconductor/foundry experience preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong analytical thinking with effective communication and time management skills.
  • Leadership demonstrated through school projects, competitions, or similar experiences.
  • Willingness to work shift hours as required.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and resolve in-line SPC issues, equipment abnormalities, and lot handling in a timely manner.

Main Responsibilities

As an Equipment Engineer in our team, you will:

  • Monitor and resolve in-line SPC (Statistical Process Control) issues, equipment abnormalities, and lot handling in a timely manner.
  • Maintain equipment capability and ensure availability to meet production demand.
  • Collaborate with production and process teams on tool usage for troubleshooting, maintenance, and output.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and quality improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and production outcomes.
  • Evaluate new equipment, materials, and retrofits to drive performance gains and production efficiency.
