Job summary

ST Engineering in Singapore seeks a Robotics Engineer to design and develop GNC systems and algorithms for drone platforms. You will work on GNC development, 6-DOF/HIL simulations, sensor integration, and flight firmware in C/C++. Strong MATLAB/Simulink experience and knowledge of sensors like accelerometers, gyros, GNSS are essential.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in reviews, and help ensure safe, reliable drone operations across Singapore and the region.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in GNC (Fresh graduates can be considered).
  • Strong background in system modelling, system identification, parameter estimation, frequency response analysis, classical and modern control theory.
  • Experience in system modelling and control, analysis, and simulation in aircraft applications.
  • Experience in developing model-based design and analyses using MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Knowledge in inertial and other type of sensors for navigation (e.g. accelerometers, gyroscopes, magnetometers, GNSS receivers, pressure sensors, ranging sensors, etc.).
  • Knowledge in Kalman filtering, digital signal processing and sensor data fusion.
  • Proficient in C/C++ programming language.
  • Proficient in software and development tools such as Linux, ROS and Git.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and modify guidance, navigation, and flight control systems and algorithms for unmanned aircraft systems.
  • Develop and modify 6-DOF and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation environments.
  • Select, test, evaluate and integrate new sensors or navigation systems onto our drone systems.
  • Write, modify, and test firmware and flight code that runs on the flight control computers (in C or C++).
  • Analyze flight data to verify flight performance and troubleshoot issues during flights.
  • Generate documentation on the specifications, design, test procedures and test results of the GNC systems.
  • Participate in design and code reviews.
  • Support ground and flight test activities.
  • Work collaboratively with staff in other engineering and business groups.
