Job summary

NTU Singapore's School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering invites applications for a Research Engineer in Autonomous Drone Swarms for GPS-Denied Environments. The role focuses on designing and integrating onboard sensing, localisation, mapping, navigation and control for coordinated multirotor operations.

You will develop swarm coordination, collaborative perception, and multi-agent path planning, and validate these on physical drone platforms through simulation, hardware-in-the-loop testing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical/Electronic, Mechanical, Computer, Robotics, CS or related field.
• Strong background in autonomous systems, robotics, UAVs, embedded systems or multi-agent systems.
• Experience or coursework in GPS-denied operations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate hardware and software for autonomous multirotor swarms in GPS-denied environments.
• Design onboard sensing, localisation, mapping, navigation, obstacle avoidance, and flight-control systems.
• Develop swarm coordination, task allocation, multi-agent path planning, collaborative perception.
• Conduct simulation, hardware-in-the-loop testing, system integration and flight experiments.
• Support demonstrations, prepare technical reports, publications, and milestone reviews.
