Job summary

VDL Enabling Technologies Group (Singapore) is seeking a Digital Transformation Engineer to drive end‑to‑end digital initiatives, collaborating with Business, IT, Data, and Security teams. You will evaluate and deploy digital technologies to improve efficiency and innovation across manufacturing operations.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree, 3+ years in digital transformation, and hands‑on experience with Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Excel, SQL, Python, and Excel VBA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong communication across cross-functional teams translating technical concepts to business value.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with identifying process improvements.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in digital transformation, preferably in manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Hands-on with Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate and Excel.
• Proficient in SQL, Python and Excel VBA.
• Knowledge of AI/ML, IoT, RPA, cloud computing, cybersecurity preferred.
• Experience in project execution: documentation, testing, training.
• Certifications PMP and Lean Six Sigma preferred.
• Working knowledge of IT infrastructure and cybersecurity principles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the single point of contact for end-to-end digital transformation projects and bridge between Business, Tech, Data and Security.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to gather requirements and deliver digital solutions.
• Analyze data from multiple sources, design data models, dashboards, and reports to drive KPI‑driven actions.
• Design, develop, and implement automation to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
• Provide application support, licenses management, and user request handling to ensure reliability.
• Research and adopt emerging digital technologies to enhance manufacturing and business processes.
• Design and maintain secure, scalable, compliant solution architectures.
• Provide technical consulting, developer support, and user training for adoption.
• Promote continuous improvement and innovation across digital initiatives.

Purpose:

The Digital Transformation Engineer support implements of effective digital initiatives and solutions to drive enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and innovation. You collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to evaluate and deploy the right digital technologies/ solutions that align with departmental and company goals.

Key Area of Responsibilities:

• Serve as the one‑point contact for end‑to‑end digital transformation projects, as bridge between Business, Technology, Data, and Security to ensure align with business goals and successful delivery of digital solutions.
• Collaborate with internal teams, corporate IT, and external vendors to gather requirements, analyze business processes, and deliver effective digital solutions.
• Integrate and manage data from multiple sources, and design data models, dashboards, and reports to enable the use of data as information to drive action to meet KPI.
• Design, develop, and implement automation solutions to streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, and improve operational efficiency.
• Provide application support for business‑critical application by managing application licenses, troubleshooting issues, and managing user requests to ensure continuous and reliable operational performance.
• Continuously research, evaluate, and adopt relevant emerging digital technologies to enhance manufacturing and business processes.
• Design and maintain solution architecture to ensure it is secured, scalable, maintainable, and compliant with cybersecurity and data protection standards.
• Provide technical consulting, developer support, and user training to ensure successful adoption and effective use of digital tools and systems.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation by actively contributing to digital initiatives and proposing enhancements to increase operational efficiency, adaptability, and long‑term business value.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and translate technical concepts into business value.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify process improvement opportunities.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in digital transformation or related roles, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
• Hands‑on experience with Power BI, Power App, Power Automate and Microsoft Excel is preferred.
• Proficient in SQL, Python and Excel VBA is preferred.
• Strong understanding of digital technologies such as AI/ML, IoT, RPA, cloud computing, and cybersecurity is preferred.
